Computer Asisted Process Capability Analysis
Users download a piece of software (the client) which connects to a server for the project selected. A work unit is downloaded to the client computer, for analysis. The analysis is typically done while the computer is otherwise idle, such as when the user is not working, but has left the computer running. When analysis has been completed, the results are fed back to the server automatically.
Each work unit will be sent to several computers, and the result from each computer will be compared against results from the others. This process helps to ensure accuracy.
Points are awarded for each workunit, depending on the effort required to process that unit. Because multiple computers will process each workunit, the points awarded will be an average across the machines involved.
